TAS: Accreditation system launched for marinas and boatyards

Australian marina and boatyard operators are being encouraged to clean up their act
under a new voluntary accreditation system.

Federal Environment Minister DAVID KEMP has launched the Clean Marinas Australia program
at a national coastal planning and management conference in Hobart.

It was developed by the Marina Association of Australia with funding from Environment Australia.

Dr KEMP says the national voluntary accreditation system will encourage over 1,000
marinas, yacht clubs, boatyards and associated industry entities across Australia to reduce
pollution and enhance the coastal environment.
